It has been 28 years since Munkholm Zoo first opened its doors to the public. This small zoo on the island of Djurs is known for its cozy atmosphere, where visitors can get up close to the animals and even stand very, very close to a 4-meter-long tiger python or a bird-eating spider.
This year, it won’t be Annelise and Benny welcoming the guests. They have now sold the business they’ve built over a lifetime. So it will be Milo and Lars, along with their family, who will be greeting the guests.
Milo is, however, a familiar face at the park; he has been part of the place for the past year and a half, and now he and his father are at the helm of this very family-friendly zoo. Their vision is for the park to continue to be known for providing an experience at eye level. They plan to carry on the park in the spirit of Annelise and Benny, while also adding new attractions over time.
The new owners of Munkholm Zoo are looking forward to becoming part of Djurs’ “animal life.” They have decided to leave North Zealand and try their luck on the tip of Jutland. They look forward to welcoming everyone to the familiar surroundings of Munkholm Zoo, but also to showing off the new additions together with their family—welcome!
Best regards
Milo and Lars, along with their family
